Advanced Method’s interactive building directories win 2005 DIGI Award in retail category
LAS VEGAS, Nev. --- March 22, 2005 --- SMART Technologies Inc. announces that Actalyst™ interactive overlays are part of an award-winning digital signage installation designed by Seattle's Advanced Method. In the retail category for installations with fewer than five screens, Advanced Method won a 2005 DIGI Award for its design of interactive building directories for Seattle Design Center. The first annual DIGI awards recognize innovation and excellence in the digital signage industry and are presented by ActiveLight, a national distributor of advanced displays, projectors and digital signage solutions. Advanced Method was one of ten award recipients at an award ceremony that took place on March 12 at the NSCA Systems Integration Expo in Orlando, Florida.
Advanced Method mounted Actalyst interactive overlays on 37" (94-cm) LCDs, producing interactive kiosks where Seattle Design Center visitors can easily access and search showroom, product, manufacturer, tenant and special-event information. Located at the main entrances to the buildings, the multimedia directories feature text menus, on-screen keypads, floor plans and images that allow visitors to conduct in-depth, customized information searches. The content is also updated instantly via the computer network, so the information is always current. To activate the directory system, visitors simply touch the directory's interactive surface.
